Reece Chadfield, 22, achieved the feat at a British Eating League event held at Stockton Cricket Club in northeast England on May 24.

The performance shattered the previous record and cemented Chadfield's growing reputation within the competitive eating community.

Oreo World Record Broken by Competitive Eater

Chadfield said the achievement was especially meaningful because it happened in his hometown of Stockton-on-Tees.

The 22-year-old documents his eating challenges and competitions online under the social media handle ReeceVsFood.

"You train for these competitions for such a long time," Chadfield said. "After all the practice, all the effort, and then having the pressure of your friends and family there watching you, the pressure was really on."

"It felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. The pressure was finally off and now I can comfortably eat my remaining Oreos in the house without having to shovel them in."

Chadfield added that he is already looking ahead to future challenges and is targeting "the next record."

His latest accomplishment surpassed the previous world record of 141 Oreos. That was set by competitive eater Max Stanfield in 2020.

Rising Star Targets More Records

Craig Harker, founder of the British Eating League, praised Chadfield's record-breaking performance.

"To eat 162 Oreos in just five minutes and set a new world record is an incredible display of speed, determination, and competitive eating ability," Harker said. "Records are made to be broken, but performances like this don't come around very often."

Harker went on to describe Chadfield as "one of the most exciting talents in British competitive eating."

The event also featured strong performances from other competitors.

JJ Da Lion finished in second place after consuming 151 Oreos, while Stef2hungry claimed third place with 126 cookies eaten.

Chadfield currently has around 1,000 subscribers on YouTube, where he shares videos documenting his competitive eating journey.

His channel description reads: "The youngest UK pro eater looking to take over the competitive eating scene one bite at a time!"

With a world record now under his belt, Chadfield appears determined to continue pushing the limits. He is chasing even bigger achievements in the competitive eating world.
