The typically reclusive Olympian opened up about what she described as "the scariest experience" of her life.

"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age. But almost dying wasn't on my Bingo card earlier this week. This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices," Biles wrote, referring to her husband Jonathan Owens' practice sessions with the Indianapolis Colts.

"I've been in bed resting this week. I'll explain sooner or later but shout-out to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited and sent flowers. Love y'all."

Simone Biles Promised to Detail Health Scare in the Future

Biles, the most decorated Olympic gymnast in history, didn't provide a ton of detail about her recent health scare. Still, it's worrisome to know that the 29-year-old athlete suffered a near-death experience. Biles is shown wearing multiple hospital bracelets in her Instagram story posted on June 6. She subsequently shared a series of images of flowers gifted to her during her recovery.

"I'll be here," she captioned another picture of her bed, which included a screenshot of a monitor's reading of her current heart rate.

The day before announcing her health scare, Biles posted images on social media of her Texas mansion from her bed.

In one snap, the Olympian flaunted a meal of toast, sausage, and eggs. "Breakfast in bed. Just what the doctor ordered," Simone wrote over the photo, which shows off a flatscreen TV hung above a fireplace.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in May 2025, Biles explained that she and Owens both played a hand in designing their dream house: "I think we've done a good collab of what we wanted our house to look like," she said.

The two pro athletes have been married since April 2023.
