During a recent appearance on Sirius XM's The Highway's Music Row Happy Hour, Jelly Roll shared a story involving his daughter.
"My daughter is on her senior trip right now, she is in Athens, Greece today," Jelly Roll said. "I just found out that the drinking age in Greece is 18... did anybody know this? Imagine finding this out by getting a Facetime from your drunk 18-year-old daughter... that got a tattoo!"
As the story continued, Jelly Roll revealed that he questioned whether his daughter had been drinking.
"She was definitely tipsy. I said, 'Did you have a drink?' She's like, 'I did not break any laws.' I was like, 'Fair, you're an adult, dude.'"
In fairness, Jelly Roll appeared to handle the situation well. Most parents would be mortified if they had been awoken by their tipsy child, thousands of miles away, with a permanent tattoo. However, it is a reminder that drinking laws are different everywhere, with most European countries allowing consumption from the age of 18.
"So yeah, I'm sure that'll make headlines," Jelly Roll said to wrap up his story.
Jelly Roll Recently Revealed a Letter He Wrote for His Daughter
Jelly Roll recently revealed some of a letter he wrote to Bailee Ann for her 18th birthday.
"Today you turned 18 years old and graduate high school," he wrote, as posted on Instagram. ".. today you accomplish something very very very few people in this family have ever accomplished, including myself ... you are not only a high school graduate. You are soon to be a college student...You are kind, smart, caring, loving, adventurous, funny, sassy, honest. To put it plainly you were everything I have never been.."
As the letter continued, Jelly Roll provided his daughter with a heartwarming reminder.
"Some people were born to walk. Some people were born to run, but very few were born to fly... New Bailee Ann were born to FLY! 18. Looks good on you. I can't wait until I'm posting about how proud I am with you graduating college...I can't wait to see the woman you end up becoming."
Turns out that Bailee did fly...all the way to Greece, where she got a Tattoo. Nevertheless, it was a heartwarming letter, and a wonderful touch from a loving father to his daughter.
