Broadway Co-Star Remembers the Generous Gesture That Bruce Willis Made

Bruce Willis is admired and respected by so many people. He has had an amazing professional career. Furthermore, he also has a stellar reputation as a decent human being. Willis began his professional ascent with the 1980s TV show Moonlighting alongside Cybill Shepherd. In addition, he went on to earn massive cinematic cred, plus superstardom, with the Die Hard franchise.

As many people are aware, Bruce Willis, 71, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. His wife, Emma Heming Willis, has been candid about how hard this has been for the entire family. Nevertheless, everyone is hanging in there with tremendous strength and courage. They are devotedly supporting the actor wholeheartedly. One well-known actress, Laurie Metcalf, recently reminisced about a kind gesture that Bruce Willis made for her years ago. That type of genuine humanity defines him, now and always.

Willis and Metcalf Starred on Broadway Together Years Ago

Laurie Metcalf recently looked back fondly on something that Bruce Willis did that touched her deeply. Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast on May 28, she talked about it with emotion. She and Willis were both in a Broadway production of Misery in 2015. It's the Stephen King tale that was also a film with Kathy Bates and James Caan.

The two would sometimes casually shoot the breeze during their downtime, They would occasionally talk about their families. Metcalf said she told him, 'Well, my oldest son's coming to town. Where should we go?' And he goes, 'Oh, you got to take him to Nobu, especially if you like sushi.'" Metcalf then recalled, "And so the next day I said, 'Bruce,' at the top of the show, 'I'm taking Will to Nobu. We're very excited.' He said, 'Oh, great. I hope you like it.'"

She Got the Surprise of Her Life

Laurie Metcalf and her son went to Nobu. They enjoyed their visit to the posh eatery immensely. She shared, "...Will and I went, ordered a ton of stuff, were seated in an extremely nice booth there, as I remember, and of course went to pay, and afterwards, 'Oh, I'm sorry, this has been taken care of by Mr. Willis."

The actress gushed on the podcast that Bruce Willis was "just handing out gifts right and left to the cast and the crew. He is an incredibly generous man."
