A wild video has gone viral online showing a passenger attempting to open the exit doors of a plane mid-flight. As reported by MSN, the incident happened on Frontier Airlines Flight 3345 from San Juan in Puerto Rico to Chicago O'Hare.

The Federal Aviation Administration released a statement which confirmed the incident was a "passenger disturbance". Viral footage from the incident shows a crazed man attempting to rip the exit doors open.

Despite the flight attendants desperately pleading with the man to stop, he continued his rampage. According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, he even tried to rush into the pilot's cabin.

But the chaos continued. After an off-duty flight attendant volunteered to keep the man in his seat, all seemed to be calm. But when he went to go and use the bathroom, the man tried to choke him.

And that's when a jiu jitsu fighter leapt into action. Josh Longood, a former professional MMA fighter as well as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, couldn't take it any more.

The Passenger Got Pinned Down Right There on the Flight

The viral footage shows Longood using his expert fighting technique to effortlessly pin the crazed passenger down. He helped to hold him down and tie his wrists with zip ties.

In a hilarious turn of events, he even decided to use the event to pose for social media. A photo shows him with a wide grin and a thumbs-up as the passenger lay slumped over and tied up in the background.

The flight ended up needing to be diverted to Miami, where the plane touched down in an emergency landing. The man was later taken into custody. His identity has not yet been revealed.

In a statement released to local news outlets, he explained what happened after the wild pics were taken. "After [the thumbs up] pics, he slipped the ties, so I had to hold him down until our emergency landing in Miami. Luckily, I'm a light sleeper and was only a row away when this all went down."

He added, "Glad everyone made it home safely. Hoping my next flight is significantly more boring."
