Reality Star Booted Off Show For Allegedly Using Slur

As a general rule, reality TV shows typically have people who haven't yet hit the celeb limelight. But that means people can slip through the cracks.

As a general rule, reality TV shows typically have people who haven't yet hit the celeb limelight. It keeps things nice and relatable, at least for some people, right?

But one issue with this is that people sometimes aren't all peachy. Lots of people tend to have skeletons in their closets, and reality show contestants are no exception to this.

One of these people was an announced contestant for Love Island USA, Vasana Montgomery. In her teaser, she announced herself as a business owner from Beavertown, Oregon. She called herself "the full package."

But she got mired in some pretty bad controversy. That's because, according to TMZ, clips online went viral - and for all the wrong reasons.

Several clips surfaced that appeared to show the (now former) reality TV star using the n-word. One clip shows her using the word whilst rapping to a song, with another showing her yelling it at a friend while she's playing a game at an arcade.

And the response from Love Island USA was swift and brutal. She got immediately booted off of the show. But, according to the outlet, this wouldn't have been something production would have caught beforehand.

That's because the clips that went viral were previously viral, and hadn't seen the light of day until she was announced as a contestant.

This Comes After a Similar Incident on the Reality TV Show Last Year

But this isn't the first time something like this has happened. According to USA Today, a similar situation happened last year on the show with another reality TV star.

Contestant Yulissa Escobar was forced to exit the villa during the second episode of the season. But, expectedly, the narrator didn't really give much explanation.

Of course, that left a lot of people scratching their heads. But it turns out that similar clips had surfaced of Escobar saying the n-word. The clips were from a podcast, which raised questions about the vetting process for Love Island USA.

And, with this latest scandal, more questions may need to be raised.
