3 people have died and a further 4 are injured after a tragic crash. According to People, the incident happened on the I-75 in Florida on Sunday, May 31 at around 4am local time.
The incident was a series of two tragic accidents. The first was when a 2014 Freightliner box truck ended up swerving and overturning near the Pine Ridge Road exit. Because of the incident, two lanes of traffic ended up getting blocked.
But the first incident didn't end up causing any serious injuries. The truck driver managed to clamber out of the vehicle, and a passing motorist in a BMW stopped to help.
But that's when things got deadly. A Tesla that was travelling south smashed straight into the truck. The BMW motorist ended up getting hit, as well. The two passengers in the Tesla, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the BMW was taken to hospital in critical condition, but he also was pronounced dead in a local hospital. The driver of the BMW was later identified as Jonathan Garcia Arias, according to the District Twenty Medical Examiner's Office.
According to WWSB, he was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, and was known for his humor and selflessness.
There were also several injuries, including the driver and two other passengers in the Tesla. Their injuries were classed as serious, so they, alongside the truck driver, were all transported to hospital for treatment.

Authorities Have Warned About What You Should Do When There Is a Crash
But it seems like authorities want to use this incident to warn motorists what not to do. They have warned against getting out of your car when a crash has happened, especially when on a highway.
Lt. Gregory Bueno says that the first thing to do is to (expectedly) call 911. But your safety shouldn't be compromised. And, "that starts with your initial assessment of where you put your car or where you put yourself," he explained.
"So that you can be a benefity and help someone who is in dire need."
This is an absolutely tragic incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this crash, and their families.
