Kimmel regularly criticizes Trump on his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Meanwhile, Trump usually takes to Truth Social to bash Kimmel and call for his show to be canceled. And so the song and dance goes around and round. Given the fiery exchanges they've had in the past, you would think there is some real hatred there.
But Kimmel admitted that he doesn't really hate Trump. Instead, he says that he feels sorry for the president.

"I feel sorry for him," Kimmel told Vulture in a recent interview. "He obviously didn't get hugged a lot."

Oddly enough, Kimmel has maintained a longtime friendship with comedian Adam Carolla. The two go back years. Kimmel keeps this friendship despite Carolla being a big supporter of Trump in recent years. You would think politics might divide the two. But Kimmel admits that he can't help being friends with Carolla despite their differences.

"I love Adam, and he loves me, and I've just decided that if I could change his mind, I would try to do that, but I don't think I can," Kimmel told the outlet. "I don't think fighting with them helps."

Don't expect Trump and Kimmel to ever hug it out though. "I don't love him," Kimmel said, but "I don't hate him, either."

Kimmel's softer stance comes after the comedian has dominated the headlines throughout the first half of the year. Back in April, Kimmel came underfire for joking that Melania Trump had "a glow like an expectant widow." Two days later, a shooter targeted a White House Correspondents' Dinner, trying to assassinate Trump.

Following the Joke, the Trump family demanded ABC immediately fire Kimmel for his remarks. This comes after the company briefly suspended the show over remarks Kimmel made about the death of Charlie Kirk.

So the fact that Kimmel doesn't hate Trump is surprising. As for Trump's real feelings, we can only guess.
