After more than half of the scheduled performers have now backed out of the Great American State Fair, President Donald Trump has found a suitable replacement: himself.

"I understand Artists are getting 'the yips' having to do with their performance on Wednesday, so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World," President Trump said in a Truth Social post on May 30.
He went on to say that he was "ordering my Representatives to look at the feasibility" of doing a rally instead. He added that he would "take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate 'Artists,' and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!"
Now, as reported by PEOPLE, Danielle Alvarez, an adviser for Freedom 250, the organization running the Great American State Fair event, confirmed that President Trump will kick off the event.
What Happened With the Great American State Fair?
The Great American State Fair is scheduled to take place at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It is scheduled from June 25 to July 10. With the lineup changes, President Trump is now set to take the stage on June 25.
However, hours after the event's musical lineup was announced on Wednesday, May 27, artists began backing out.
Morris Day, the frontman for The Time, suggested that the band was never actually booked.
Rapper Young MC shared that "artists were never told about any political involvement with the event."
The Commodores stated that it chooses "not to publicly affiliate with any single political party."
Martina McBride shared that "things started changing and what we were told is, in fact, not what is happening."
Poison's Bret Michaels said that his decision to back out was "not about politics." He added that there were concerns about "the safety of my fans, band, crew, family and myself."
This leaves Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli (Fab Morvan as a solo performer) and Flo Rida. Freedom Williams of C+C Music Factory was also not told about Trump's involvement. However, he indicated in a wild, profanity-laced video that he "might do the motherf*****g show."
Is the Great American State Fair Political?
With President Trump part of the lineup, it appears that the Great American State Fair has now become a rally. However, he was involved long before the event was announced.
Freedom 250 describes itself as nonpartisan. However, it was established by Task Force 250, which was part of an Executive Order to mobilize federal agencies in support of the nation's 250th birthday.
In another Truth Social post, President Trump called for the cancellation of the musical performances. This came after a judge ruled it was illegal for the president to add his name to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.
"We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet who do nothing but complain," Trump wrote.
