What Seasoning Is Affected By the Recall?
The Providence, Utah-based Blackstone Products announced the voluntary recall of its Parmesan Ranch seasoning on May 15.
The reason is that the company learned that a dry milk powder ingredient used in the product has been recalled by California Dairies, Inc. due to a possible salmonella contamination.
California Dairies, Inc. has been linked to several recalls over its dry milk powder ingredient. For example, the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company recalled 13 of its beverage mixes due to a possible salmonella contamination.
Additionally, Utz Quality Foods has issued a voluntary recall on some flavors of its Zapp's and Dirty brand potato chips because they contain the dry milk powder supplied by California Dairies, Inc.
Snack mixes produced by John B. Sanfilippo and Son and sold under the Southern Style Nuts, Fisher, Squirrel Brand, and Good & Gather brands were also recalled for containing dry milk powder.
There have been no reports of anyone being affected by the recalled products.
How Do I Know If I Have the Affected Seasoning?
The affected seasoning products were sold nationwide at Walmart. They could also be purchased on Blackstone's website.
The recall affects Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning sold in 7.3-ounce containers with the product number #4106.
The affected lot numbers are 2025-43282, with a "Best If Used By" date of July 2, 2027; 2025-46172, with a best-by date of Aug. 5, 2027; and 2026-54751, with a best-by date of Aug. 12, 2027.
This information can be found at the bottom of each seasoning bottle. The top line contains the lot code. The Best By date is on the bottom line.

According to the Mayo Clinic, salmonella is a bacterium that causes infections. It is caused "by eating raw or undercooked meat, poultry, and eggs or egg products, or by drinking unpasteurized milk."
Symptoms include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps, usually starting within 8 hours to 3 days after exposure.
While it can be life-threatening, most healthy people recover within a few days to a week without seeking medical help.
