If you needed another drama in the Yellowstone universe, you now have one. Dutton Ranch made its debut in mid-May. This spinoff of Yellowstone tells the story of Rip Wheeler and his fiery wife, Beth Dutton, as they navigate a brand new life in Texas. Those two characters really caught on with viewers in their previous incarnation on Yellowstone, so they now have a TV series of their own. As played by actors Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, they rivet the audience. It's a megahit thus far for Paramount+.

Actress Natalie Alyn Lind portrays Oreana Lynn Jackson on the show. On the AMA red carpet on Monday, May 25, she commented on how long she is contractually committed to Dutton Ranch. She plainly told Variety, "...I need to ask my lawyer that. I hope 1,000. I would do this show forever...I love everyone on the show. So, I'm there as long as they want me."
There Has Already Been Some Drama Behind the Scenes
A major shakeup happened for Dutton Ranch recently. Per ScreenRant, its creator, Chad Feehan, was reportedly axed by Taylor Sheridan. "...[A] new showrunner will be found should it get renewed," the outlet stated.
Christina Voros, Dutton Ranch's exec producer and director, observed the following about Feehan's abrupt leave-taking. She said he did "an exceptional job building a world of adversaries for Rip and Beth" on the show. Nevertheless, Voros did not shed any light on the reasons why Feehan was shown to the door. She also did not speculate on the future of Dutton Ranch. Voros is clearly "grateful to him and his team for creating a world for these characters to move into."
The outlet reported, "News of Feehan's Dutton Ranch firing first came about in late April...the creator frequently clashed with Reilly, Hauser, Sheridan and 101 Studios' David Glasser during production...."
The Show Was Successful Right Away
With the muscle of Yellowstone's wild popularity already powering it, Dutton Ranch seems like a surefire hit. Statistics bear that out. Per Variety, it had "the biggest series launch in the streamer's history." So maybe the stage is set for a renewal. We need to wait and see.
