One Person Is Less Than Thrilled About Upcoming Beatles Biopics

Biopics about legendary music icons are evidently the rage now. Ambitious filmmakers did movies about Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Michael Jackson. Whether they are entertaining is one thing. Whether they are accurate and factual is another matter. Currently in the pipeline are four different biopics about the Beatles. All are directed by Sam Mendes and are scheduled for release in April 2028. One person who is grousing rather than grinning about them is Pattie Boyd. She was married to George Harrison from 1966 to 1977. (He died in 2001 at the age of 58.)

Now 82, Boyd is seemingly upset because she was not contacted about the content, especially as it relates to her life, per People.. An actress named Aimee Lee Wood is reportedly set to play Boyd. Sounds as if Pattie Boyd would have liked to have some input.

Boyd Talked About the Films on a Recent Podcast

The ex-Mrs. Harrison spoke about this issue on the podcast Miss O'Dell: Abbey Road To Tulsa Time. She shared, "I also heard that this girl, this actress, is going to be playing me. Now, I might be completely wrong, but I would have thought it would be polite to mention it to me or let me know - if they've got someone who's going to be playing me, wouldn't you think they'd let me know? But I haven't been contacted by anyone."

She Believes That She Could Have Offered Some Great Insider Info

Being the spouse of George Harrison gave Pattie Boyd an insiders perspective. She most likely knew about the Beatles' formative years, massive success, and internal strains. Nevertheless, she claims that no one from the films-in-the-works reached out to her for that material.

Boyd said on the podcast, "I mean, I could have told them great stories, but I don't think they want to know. I think they want to create something that's completely different, like a - I don't know what - like, I mean, a different story."

She added that the final product may be less than accurate. It could have "nothing to do with the truth, nothing to do with, you know, what really happened because they didn't want to talk to anyone that was there."

Pattie Boyd went on to marry the iconic Eric Clapton. They were wed from 1979 to 1989. Her current husband is Rod Weston, a property developer.
