While soaring through the skies of northern Austria on Saturday afternoon, a 44-year-old paraglider named Sabrina was nearly obliterated by a sightseeing plane.

The near-fatal collision was captured on video, showing the aircraft ripping through Sabrina's canopy, sending her hurling toward the surface below.

Following the high-speed collision, the paraglider is shown spiraling out of control while thousands of feet in the air. During her horrifying descent, Sabrina attempted to stabilize and deploy her emergency parachute.

With her canopy shredded to pieces, Sabrina managed to ward off her panic enough to execute an emergency landing. Her quick thinking spared her from becoming a pool of blood in the Schmittenhöhe mountain region.

Miraculously, the paraglider was able to activate her emergency parachute just in the nick of time and crash-landed relatively unharmed.

According to the Salzburg State Police. The 28-year-old pilot of the Cessna 172 told authorities he was unable to avoid the collision.

"The propeller of the motor plane severely damaged the paraglider, prompting the experienced paraglider to deploy her reserve parachute," police said.

Paraglider Escapes Plane Collision With Minor Injuries

Austrian outlet Kronen Zeitung reported that a police helicopter located Sabrina and transported her to an airport.

"The woman from Upper Austria made a safe emergency landing on a forest road. She was then airlifted by police helicopter to Zell am See Airport. Both parties escaped injury," police said.

The video ends with Sabrina removing her gear while simultaneously expressing disbelief at the situation.

While recapping the scary incident on Instagram, Sabrina wrote that May 23 will always be like a second birthday for her, and she is fortunate to be alive.

"I actually still can't believe that I'm sitting here typing this," she wrote in the caption, per an automated translation.

"Apart from a few nasty bruises and some general contusions, nothing really happened."
