Criminal Busted After Using Kim Kardashian's Clothing Brand 'SKIMS' to Smuggle $9 Million Worth of Drugs

A truck driver was arrested after almost $10 million worth of dangerous drugs was discovered in a truck carrying SKIMS products.

It's not all too uncommon to see dangerous substances get smuggled around borders these days. But, what you don't often see is a celebrity's clothing line being used in order to hide it.

According to People, over $9.6 million worth of cocaine (should this be censored?) was discovered in a shipping truck. The truck was holding 28 shipments of Kim Kardashian's clothing line, SKIMS.

40-year-old Jakub Jan Konkel was arrested in Essex in England in September of 2025. He had travelled from the Netherlands, using the SKIMS shipments as a front for his lucrative side business.

But, he was caught by a sting by the UK's Border Force. Investigators from the National Crime Agency later explained that the SKIMS orders were legit - but there was a hidden compartment which housed the illicit substance.

Luckily for Kim Kardashian and her company, neither have been accused of any wrongdoing. The truck driver, however, had a very different story. He admitted during an interrogation that he was paid ??4,500 (around $5,225) to smuggle the dangerous drugs. He was sentenced to 13 1/2 years in prison for smuggling.

In a statement, the NCA explained, "Organised crime groups use corrupt drivers like Konkel to move Class A drugs often hidden on entirely legitimate loads such as this. The detection and investigation have removed a significant amount of [the drug] whose profits are lost to the crime grup behind behind the smuggling attempt, and with Konkel they've lost an important enabler."

Kim Kardashian's Clothing Brand Was Released Last September

In case you aren't aware, SKIMS is Kim Kardashian's activewear brand. It's a collaboration with Nike, which was released in September 2025.

However, before it released, it had faced considerable delays prior to its release. According to MSN, Nike explained that the issue had stemmed from "internal production challenges".

In a statement on the release of SKIMS, Kim Kardashian explained, "This collection brings together cutting-edge performance with bold, style-forward design, empowering athletes - from elite competitors to everyday gym enthusiasts - to move effortlessly and conquer their goals with confidence."

We hope that this setback doesn't affect SKIMS - after all, they had nothing to do with it. What an unfortunate case.
