Quintayvious Hutchins has been charged with domestic assault, per PEOPLE. The New England Patriots' rookie, who was a standout at Boston College, has pleaded not guilty. According to CBS News Boston, a witness, who is a resident advisor at Boston College, told the police that Hutchins was arguing with a woman, with both pushing each other, before he allegedly grabbed her by the throat.

"He said she was cheating on him and he choked and yelled at her," the RA said in their witness statement. The RA also noted that "the 'choke' was a firm grab to the neck not strangulation."
According to CBS News, the woman in question "became visibly sad" when she realized that Hutchins was being arrested. "I'm ok nothing happened," she wrote in her witness statement.
Following his not-guilty plea, Hutchins was released on the condition that he return to court for his next hearing.
The New England Patriots Have Released a Statement Regarding Quintayvious Hutchins' Arrest
Following the news of Hutchins' arrest, the New England Patriots released a statement.
"We are aware of the report involving Quintayvious Hutchins," the statement read. "We take these matters very seriously and are in the process of gathering additional information. (And) we will not have further comment at this time."
Hutchins was selected with the 247th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Shortly after getting the call from New England, the rookie defender shared his surprise with reporters.
"If I could be honest, I didn't think I was going to get a call," Hutchins told reporters at the time. "So, getting that call from the Patriots was like a dream come true, and hope and faith rising inside of me, knowing that I have another chance to go showcase my talent."
Quintayvious Hutchins Impressed at the Collegiate Level
Hutchins spent four seasons with Boston College in the ACC. He played in a total of 43 games, starting 30. During his tenure, he recorded 72 tackles, averaging 5.5 sacks per season. He recorded one interception during his time in the ACC, running for 21 yards.
The rookie will undoubtedly be hoping that his current legal issues don't impact his professional career before it's begun. There is currently no further information regarding the case.
