"My baby was robbed," Katja Richardson, Keyla's mother, wrote. "She did not fail. She was robbed i'm sorry I'm gonna say it!!"

Keyla ultimately finished third, placing behind Jordan McCullough, who was the runner-up and Hannah Harper, who was crowned as the winner. Despite missing out on the top spot, Keyla still received some glowing praise from judge Luke Bryan.

"This whole year I just watched you focus with drive and determination," Bryan said. "We've seen you just give it your all for your family and your crew and your people and you've won in our eyes. Just watching you seize every moment has been so inspiring to me," he added. "Congratulations, great job."

During her final appearance on American Idol, Keyla performed "Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready)" by Alicia Keys and "I Love The Lord" by Whitney Houston. Both songs were well received by the judges and the audience.

Even though Keyla didn't win the contest, her career will never be the same. She will undoubtedly have a host of new opportunities following her success in making the top three.

Carrie Underwood Wants Former 'American Idol' Winner To Appear on 'Dancing With the Stars'

Talking of future opportunities, Carrie Underwood recently shared her belief that Taylor Hicks, the 2006 winner of American Idol, should compete on the next season of Dancing With The Stars.

"It was so much fun, you guys," Underwood said following a class of 2006 special episode. "I wouldn't have put you guys together, you know, if I had anybody ... I wouldn't have done that. But it worked. And it worked because you guys both are professionals. You sound incredible. You guys were both just having a good time. I vote for Taylor on the next season of 'Dancing with the Stars.' I think that would be so much fun."

There's no telling whether Hicks will take Underwood's advice by joining the show. Nevertheless, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise if we saw Keyla competing on something similar in the years ahead. She's already proven to be a great competitor and incredibly talented performer.
