Savannah Guthrie Shares Heartbreaking Mother's Day Message as Mom Remains Missing

More than three months after she mysteriously disappeared from her Arizona residence, Nancy Guthrie still has not been found. Guthrie, the 84-year-old mom of Today co-host Savannah Guthrie, was allegedly abducted by someone seen on her home's security camera footage. Multiple, heart-wrenching pleas for her return have been made by Savannah Guthrie and her siblings on videos. Additionally, there has been intense and unrelenting investigative work by numerous law enforcement agencies, The publicity surrounding this high-profile case has been nationwide.

Nevertheless, Nancy Guthrie remains missing. A reward of up to $1 million was offered by the Guthries in February. The money is on the table in the hope that someone might come forward with information about her whereabouts or fate. So far, though, sadly, that has not happened.

Her Message About Mom Nancy

Savannah Guthrie did not forget her beloved mom on Mother's Day, which was Sunday, May 10. She released a touching video on Instagram Stories that showed her enjoying special moments with family members.

The caption read, "mothee, daughter, sister, Nonie - we miss you with every breath. We will never stop looking for you. We will never be at peace until we find you...Someone knows something that can make the difference. Call 1800CALLFBI. You can be anonymous and the reward remains available. Please keep praying. Bring her home." The post ends with a yellow heart emoji.

She's Hosting a New Show

Savannah Guthrie returned to her role on Today on Monday, April 6. She had been in Arizona while the search for her mom continued. Now, she has announced a big new development in her career at NBC. On Monday, May 11, Jimmy Fallon said on air on Today that a Wordle game show would be on NBC soon, with Guthrie hosting. Fallon is an exec producer of the slated program.

He said, "This is very exciting, I have a big announcement to make. We've been developing Wordle as a game show for the past two-and-a-half years with The New York Times, and it's official — we are making Wordle Game Show with our host, Savannah Guthrie!"

Fallon openly rhapsodized about Guthrie. "I'm so happy it's you. We were looking, we're like, 'Who's the perfect host of this?' We need to have someone that looks like they play Wordle, someone that knows how to run a show and host it, and we did the pilot, and you are amazing, by the way."

Guthrie Expressed Her Sincere Appreciation

She is grateful to many for the opportunity and for people's patience. Guthrie shared, ""We've been working on this for a really long time, and actually we just found out in February that we got picked up and we were supposed to shoot in March."

Furthermore, she said, "And I just want to say a quick thank you to NBC and to Jimmy and his production company and the The New York Times and the studio and Universal because when everything happened with me and my family, they just stopped everything and said 'We'll wait for you.' And Hollywood is a really tough business, and I didn't expect that, and I just want to say thank you, it means so much to me."
