The situation occurred on Friday, May 8. According to a local outlet, Correio da Manha, Tyler remains in intensive care at the hospital in the Algarve, Portugal.

"Bonnie Tyler's health deteriorated this Friday. The 74-year-old singer suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and was later resuscitated," the Portuguese outlet reported. "The episode reportedly occurred when doctors attempted to bring her out of an induced coma."

To make matters worse, Tyler is reportedly fighting an infection at the same time. She has reportedly been placed on a high dosage of antibiotics.

As reported by Correio da Manha, Tyler was originally admitted to the hospital due to her appendix rupturing.

"The artist remains in intensive care at Faro Hospital in the Algarve, after being moved from intermediate care late Wednesday, following surgery to remove her appendix, which reportedly ruptured," the report says.

It's important to note that no prognosis regarding Tyler's current medical situation has been released. In fact, that information has remained guarded, despite the public nature of her current health battles.

Bonnie Tyler Was Placed Into an Induced Coma on May 7

Bonnie Tyler hadn't been in an induced coma for long. She was initially induced on May 7, just one day before doctors attempted to bring her out of it.

The "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" singer was initially taken to the hospital on Wednesday, May 6.

"Bonnie Tyler is in an induced coma after several days at Faro Hospital following intestinal surgery," Correio Da Manha reported at the time. "According to what we have learned, the singer is unconscious and connected to a breathing ventilator in the intensive care unit."

Fans will undoubtedly be hoping that Tyler can make a full recovery. The iconic singer is currently scheduled to embark on a European tour later this year. However, if her health situation continues, it's likely those dates will be canceled and fans refunded.
