As they say, once you learn how to ride a bike, you never forget. I guess that's true even when you face challenges and roadblocks. Singer Amy Grant recently celebrated a major milestone after suffering a traumatic brain injury.

She recently rode her bike for the first time since her 2022 accident.
"I was so out of my comfort zone," Grant told People. "My heart was pounding and it'd been almost four years and I did it. I had two old friends, one in front of me, one behind me, and we rode for a few hours. But just that very beginning, that was a leap."
Grant has been preparing to ride a bike again since last summer. She's had to overcome a lot of balance issues to get to this point.

"A dear friend of mine said, 'You're not ready yet.' Because... Anyway, I had a lot of balance issues," she said. "I've been working on my balance and so I just have a series of exercises that I do multiple times a day. And it's made a difference and so I felt like I was ready; I'd put in the hard work."
The accomplishment is a major point of healing for Grant. In 2022, she suffered a traumatic brain injury after hitting a pothole while riding a bike in Nashville. Previously, she detailed how difficult the recovery had been.
"I still have issues with my short term memory. My balance is still weird," Grant told the outlet. "I made a joke about it last night. You know, sometimes I walk around like I'm drunk and I just have to laugh about all of it."
At the time, she said she didn't know if she would get back on a bike.
She continued, "I can't remember what I can't remember. I don't know if I'll get back on a bike. There's so many great sports to enjoy and so... who knows."
So it's great to see the singer getting back out there and living her life to the fullest.
