After recording the speed, Sanchez pulled Jones over and placed him under arrest. Before transporting him to the Brevard County Jail.

Jones now faces a charge of operating a vehicle over 100 mph. It is an offense in Florida that can carry up to 30 days in jail.

The sheriff's office later shared details of the incident on Instagram. They posted a photo of Jones wearing a black suit and a white dress shirt.

"At approximately 9am, Deputy Caleb Sanchez was on I-95 conducting speed enforcement, when he saw this Super Speeder coming' in hot!!," the post read.

"Christopher Jones was dressed to impress as he was on his way to a wedding and of course, was running late!! Unfortunately for him he didn't realize that in Brevard County we don't give you any warnings when it comes to violations."

Sheriff Jokes About Arrest as Social Media Reacts

Sheriff Wayne Ivey signed off on the post with additional comments, taking a light-hearted approach to the arrest.

"Deputy Sanchez clocked him in going 101mph!!," he added. "So you know what that means, the only party Jones was going to attend was at Ivey's Iron Bar Lodge, and from what we've heard, it's a real bore!!"

"Great job by Deputy Sanchez for helping keep Brevard county safe and we'll see ya next time (because we know there will be another one) on Super Speeder Saturday!!"

The post quickly gained traction online, drawing more than 2,000 likes and hundreds of comments. Many users were divided over the arrest.

"Jail for speeding violations is not funny - it's actually outrageous," one user wrote.

"Why put him in handcuffs instead of a ticket for speeding?" another added.

According to Fox News, Jones was later released on a $500 bond.

The same report noted that local authorities have intensified efforts to crack down on reckless driving.

It has been warned that more high-speed traffic stops are expected in an effort to improve roadway safety.
