Rogelio Reyes, the former boyfriend of WWE star Stephanie Vaquer, has been found guilty of attempting to strangle her. Reyes himself is also a talented wrestler, operating under the pseudonym of "El Cuatrero."

The incident between Reyes and Vaquer reportedly occurred in 2023. She claimed he grabbed her by the throat, throwing her against the wall in what was a heated argument.
"Photos from the police report were circulated after his arrest, showing bruising across Vaquer's neck, and she stated in her complaint that she was told that her trachea was nearly broken," Wrestling Inc reported. "The prosecution reclassified the initial domestic violence case as attempted femicide due to the severity and the pattern of lethal risk identified in the report. Per the penal code, attempted femicide can carry a custodial sentence of 11-46 years."
Reyes comes from a long line of wrestlers. He has competed on multiple high-ranking promotions, including CMLL, which is among the biggest Luchador wrestling companies in the world. Reyes won the CMLL World Middleweight Championship during his time there.
Nevertheless, he could be looking at some serious jail time now that he's been found guilty.
"According to El Heraldo De Mexico, attempted femicide carries a maximum sentence of 46 years south of the border, while domestic violence is punishable by up to six years in prison," The Daily Mail reported.
Reyes will be sentenced on Tuesday, May 12.
Stephanie Vaquer Lost at WrestleMania
Despite the ongoing court case, Vaquer has continued to carve out an impressive career for herself. She's become one of the top women on WWE's roster, earning herself a match at this year's WrestleMania.
Unfortunately for Vaquer, that match didn't go her way. She lost to Liv Morgan, losing her WWE Women's World Championship in the process. The match itself was short-lived, showing Morgan's in-ring dominance, which was designed to continue her own rise into superstardom.
Vaquer will undoubtedly be back in the championship scene sooner or later, though. She's become a key part of the WWE's women's division. Hopefully, once Reyes' case is finished, she can push even harder to become one of the biggest wrestling names on the planet.
