Legendary Rock Band Will Release Their 25th Studio Album in July

Bruce Springsteen reportedly told singer Rita Wilson that "creativity is time independent." The Rolling Stones evidently abide by that creed as well. Now in their seventh decade of crafting rock tracks that are classics of the genre, they are set to release their 25th studio album in July.

Titled Foreign Tongues, it will undoubtedly feature the same kind of electrifying songs that established the band as exuberant masters of their trade. Led by the incomparable Mick Jagger, they came to our shores as part of the British Invasion of English rock groups in the 1960s. In all the years since, the Rolling Stones have never stopped generating their unique, pulsating sound that still rivets fans. Rock springs eternal.

They Had a Festive Launch Party in New York

Leave it to the Stones to have a splashy launch party for their upcoming LP. Per The Guardian. the bash was held on Tuesday, May 5, in the Big Apple. Among the revelers were director Baz Luhrmann and actor Leonardo DiCaprio. The emcee was Conan O'Brien.

The Band Dropped Some Hints About the New Album

It was an ideal time to give fans a few glimpses of what to expect on Foreign Tongues. Per the outlet, there will be 14 tracks on the Andrew Watt-produced endeavor. On the album along with Jagger, Ronnie Wood, and Keith Richards will be giants like Paul McCartney, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Steve Winwood.

The album will showcase the Rolling Stones' versatility. In fact, Mick Jagger said, "The thing about this record is - the Stones are a rock band that also has the capacity to do ballads, country music or dance music. So we don't get stuck in one kind of style."

Foreign Tongues reportedly has the band roving from one genre to another. For example, "Hit Me in the Head" represents punk rock. "Ringing Hollow" derives from Jagger and Richards' affinity for the music of Hank Williams. And the delta blues inspired "Beautiful Delilah."

It was recorded hastily. Mick Jagger explained. "Only having four weeks gave us an urgency. We're having fun most of the time in the studio, but it's a lot of concentration too - you've really got to make [a song's] five minutes count."

Foreign Tongues met with Conan O'Brien's approval. He delivered a positive verdict. "There's a vibrancy, an urgency to it."
