Country Artist Dresses Up Like Giant Road Kill at Walmart

The country singer recently embraced a quirky idea to promote her new album, Middle Of Nowhere by dressing up for an Instragram video

Promoting music has never been so easy, and so difficult all at the same time. We're living in a world where an artist can rapidly rise to fame via social media. However, that means the playing field has somewhat been leveled, which in turn means that established artists sometimes need to think outside of the box when promoting their own work.

Videos by Wide Open Country

Kacey Musgraves is a great example of this. The country singer recently embraced a quirky idea to promote her new album, Middle Of Nowhere. She shared a video on Instagram in which she was dressed in a full armadillo costume. Musgraves then went to multiple stores in search of her album.

The video begins with the "Rainbow" singer visiting a Walmart. After walking around the store for a while, Kacey finds a worker in the store and asks if they have the new Kacey Musgraves album.

"I don't recognize that name," the store worker replies, in what was perfect timing.

Kacey then spends a few moments longer in the store before the video cuts to her entering a Barnes & Noble. A trip to Target follows, followed by some joking around lying in the road. Fortunately for Kacey, she found her new album at both Barnes & Noble and Target. So, we can at least assume it was a successful trip.

Fans Loved Kacey Musgraves' Instagram Video

Seeing a country star doing weird, normal-person things was bound to resonate. We all love it when we see hints of our wacky selves in others, especially when they're famous. As such, the comments section to Kacey's post was full of support.

"If I was famous I would be doing this," one user joked in the comments.

"This is top tier social media content right here," another user chimed in.

Another user noted that Kacey's video is proof that she grew up in a small town. "This is "growing up in a small town and the only thing to do after 8pm is Walmart" energy," they joked.

Kacey is undoubtedly embracing the fun side of life as a celebrity, and it will likely serve her well. Fans clearly enjoyed the quirky attempt at promotion and will undoubtedly be waiting for the next instalment of Kacey's attempt to push her album.
