Uncle Kracker and Kid Rock are best friends. It's been that way for decades. So, when Kid Rock and the rest of Twister Brown Trucker, Kid Rock's former band, learned that Uncle Kracker had begun to release solo music that leaned more toward pop music, they made sure to poke fun at their friend.

"Like 'Follow Me,' I remember everyone in my immediate circle making fun of me because it was so poppy sounding, compared to what we had been doing with the Kid Rock stuff," Uncle Kracker said during an appearance on Taste of Country Nights. "Then 'Follow Me' shows up in the middle of like all this Kid Rock fun stuff — 'Follow Me' was sittin' there like this pop song."
During his conversation on Taste of Country Nights, Uncle Kracker recalled that after 'Follow Me' was released, Kid Rock and his former bandmates asked him why he released the song.
"I don't know," he recalled. "It just felt good at the time."
Ultimately, Uncle Kracker left the Twisted Brown Trucker band in pursuit of his solo career. Fortunately, that didn't impact his friendship with Kid Rock. In fact, the two are still regularly seen together at events.
Kid Rock Recently Caused a Stir With Helicopter Ride
It's not hard to envision Kid Rock giving his close friend a hard time for going solo. He's often outspoken about his beliefs, serious or not. Unfortunately for Kid Rock, that outspoken nature usually lands him in hot water. In fact, controversy usually does a good job of finding him, too.
Recently, Kid Rock received significant backlash for riding in a helicopter with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, on April 27.
"Joined my friend @KidRock — and some of our great @USArmy Apache pilots — for a ride this morning. (More to come on that!)," Hegseth
