When speaking with Extra on Monday, April 27, Brooke explained why she opted against being part of the now hit docuseries.

"Why come out of hiding and talk about something that I'm just gonna get raked over the coals for anyway?," Brooke said. "It's missing 98 percent of real life, like it was a beautiful showcase piece on my dad's life, but it didn't talk nearly about the underbelly of the beast."

Brooke then continued by admitting that nothing in the four-part series came as a surprise to her. However, she did recall that she "actually watched it kind of scared thinking there would be a surprise for me, and there wasn't."

As her interview continued, Brooke detailed her complicated relationship with Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea.

"He did really hurt me, and I never really got a genuine apology or a sorry," she explained. "The forgiveness just came from my love for him, but even in the documentary, I felt like there wasn't accountability, and I was just like, 'This is basically your last chance to really be honest."

Brooke Hogan Also Discussed Hulk Hogan's Addiction Issues

During the same interview, Brooke spoke about Hulk Hogan's admission to using fentanyl during the final stages of his wrestling career. She admitted that he "quit cold turkey for a long time."

Brooke also noted that she didn't think her father "had an addictive personality at all towards drugs." However, she did share her thoughts on what his addiction actually was.

"I think his addiction was validation, particularly from women; I think that it was, you know, the sex part," Brooke explained. "I think it was... 'Am I still young? Still strong? Still attractive? Am I still good enough?'... That led to a lot of his downfalls and a lot of his scandals."

The Hogan docuseries has been a massive hit since its release on April 22. It shows the late superstar throughout his career.

Hogan passed away on July 24, 2025.
