Florida Pastor Arrested After Allegedly Having Multiple Wives

A Florida pastor who wrote a book for men on how to deepen their relationships with their wives was taken into custody for alleged bigamy.

This next story would make for an interesting update to the Alanis Morissette song "Ironic." A Florida pastor was arrested by police last week for alleged bigamy. The irony is that he wrote a book for men on how to deepen their relationships with their wives.

This Florida Pastor Had Another Wife

Leslie Williams leads a ministry in The Villages, a Florida senior community. He runs the church using a rented mailbox at a shopping center in the area, which is also said to be popular with swingers. His website lists services to prepare followers "for the end of time."

The 62-year-old was arrested on Wednesday, April 22, by the Sumter County Sheriff's Department on charges of bigamy, according to the New York Post. A warrant was issued by the Rockland County Sheriff's Department in Georgia on April 3.

Williams is being held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center. He is waiting to be sent to Georgia.

Facebook May Have Outed the Florida Pastor

Back in December, Williams made his marriage to a woman known as Cindi Facebook official.

"Wow I thought you were already married. Congratulations!!" one of the comments on the post read.

While details about Williams's first wife are unknown, he later shared that Cindi had changed his life for the better.

"Thanks for all the wonderful comments referencing my saved, beautiful and talented wife, Mrs. Williams! She's saved for real, praise God!!!" he wrote.

Meanwhile, questions remain about whether Williams followed the relationship advice in his own book, Love Her Like This: Loving Her Has Never Been Deeper. The self-published book, released in 2017, centers on the idea that the teachings in the Bible can improve marriages.

According to its Amazon page, the book "speaks directly to the hearts of men sharing the deep intent of the type of love a man should have for his wife" and "deals with common issues that arise in a marriage that have the potential to destroy the sacred relationship between a husband and wife."

While the irony of this story about the Florida pastor is amusing, to say the least, it also serves as a reminder that nobody, even men of God, is perfect.
