Dylan Carter has died at the age of 24. The death of the country singer who rose to fame on The Voice was confirmed on Facebook and reported by News 2.

Carter was involved in a car accident in Colleton County, South Carolina. It was announced by the Local Voice, the non-profit he co-founded to help women battling cancer.
Carter was "someone who meant so much to our community," the organization said.
"Dylan was the heart of what we do," it wrote. "He believed every voice matters and lived that every day. Through his music, his kindness, and his smile, he brought people together and made everyone feel seen."
It added, "We are heartbroken, but find comfort knowing he is in heaven with his mother. We are so grateful for Dylan, for the love he gave this community, and for the impact he leaves behind. We will carry his light forward and continue this mission in his honor."

Beyond his music, Carter worked as a realtor and owned Sunny Days RV & Campground in Santee, South Carolina.
The singer appeared on season 24 of The Voice. While there, he impressed the coaches with his performance of Whitney Houston's "I Look to You." His mother had died a year before his audition, and went on the show as a tribute to her. A longtime fan of Reba McEntire, he then chose her to be his coach on the show.
Carter was also scheduled to perform tonight at the "Music on Main" event in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The town's mayor, Thomas Hamilton Jr., paid tribute to the singer.
"Our family is heartbroken to hear about the passing of Dylan Carter in a car accident," he wrote. "As a gifted singer, he frequently entertained our community with his performances at Town events. His kindness and charm earned him immense respect, and his absence will be deeply felt.
He added, "TO the loved ones and acquaintances of Dylan, we offer our sincerest condolences during this difficult period. The Town of Moncks Corner, its Council, and entire staff extend their deepest sympathies. He was much more to our family than an entertainer he was our friend and we are deeply saddened."
