One of the NFL's true all-time greats, Lawrence Taylor, has reportedly been hospitalized, according to TMZ. Per the outlet, Taylor, 67, is in a New Jersey hospital because of a "medical emergency." His condition and the nature of the emergency are not known. The New York Giants football legend "arrived at the emergency room and was shortly transferred to a different section of the facility."

There is one somewhat reassuring bit of information. The outlet reported that unnamed people "close to Taylor" did not feel that Lawrence Taylor's medical situation "is too serious."
Taylor has experienced health problems in the past, along with substance abuse issues. However, the gridiron phenom seemed fine not long ago, when he was visiting the University of North Carolina, his alma mater. The outlet posted a pic of Taylor with Bill Belichick, the former defensive coordinator of the Giants and present UNC football coach. Taylor, known fondly as "LT," is shown seeming relaxed and at ease.
He Had a Magnificent NFL Career
Taylor, who was enshrined in the NFL Hall of Fame as of 1999, had a remarkable run as a pro athlete. The Williamsburg, Virginia native played linebacker. The records and distinctions he racked up include being in 10 consecutive Pro Bowls, participating on two Super Bowl-winning teams, and landing three NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors. In fact, Taylor was also the 1986 NFL MVP, per Fox News Digital.
He proudly wore number 56 for the Giants. He was spectacular right out of the gate, earning Rookie of the Year in 1981. Quite an impressive record!

According to the Pro Football Hall of Fame web site, Lawrence Taylor said this. "Thirteen years of enjoyable times...I've been to Super Bowls, I've been to playoffs, I've been a dominant force. I've earned the respect of players and people in general around the country."
Taylor made his reputation during 184 games that clearly proved his immense competitive mettle.
