There have been countless blowups in the long history of the daytime talk show The View. But this latest dustup between hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sara Haines got a little more violent than most.

What Happened on "The View"?
The incident took place during an interview with Justin Theroux and Kate Hudson on Thursday, April 23. The actors were there to discuss their Netflix series Running Point.
In the middle of the discussion, the camera went wide. Haines could be seen slapping Goldberg on the arm playfully. This friendly tap happened during a conversation with Theroux about working with actress Meryl Streep in the upcoming sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. He described her as an "icon" and said she is "just like every other actor."
"Ow!" screamed Goldberg. She then returned Haines' slap.
Haines struck her The View cohost again, this time on the back of her hand. Goldberg hit her back, and they exchanged slaps two more times for a total of six.
One of the Guests Was Distracted by All the Slapping
After the sixth slap, Theroux had to step in.
"Why are we all hitting each other?" he asked The View cohosts.
Goldberg grew visibly annoyed after Theroux questioned the slapping.
As Entertainment Weekly reports, this isn't the first time this has happened on The View.
Last month, Goldberg slapped Haines on the air after she made a joke at the expense of Joy Behar.
"My agent at the time told me not to take The View, and, in retrospect, he might've been right," said Behar. "I was told, 'Change your voice,' which I can't. 'Change your name.'"
"It's so iconic, why would you change it?" asked Haines.
Behar replied, "Because I sound like I have Jimmy Hoffa in the back of my throat."
"Well, did you?" Haines jokingly asked. The Ghost actress then slapped Haines on her arm with her cue cards.

Who cares, really?
