The Series Features the Last Interview With Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan: Real American, which came out on April 22, includes what would be Hogan's final interview before his death in July 2025. It took place several months before his heart attack.

On the show, he talks about his family and his life after he and his ex-wife, Linda, divorced in 2009. He revealed that he was taking more fentanyl than his doctors had ever seen a human consume.

But the one thing he wouldn't discuss was the death of his brother Alan Bollea from an overdose in 1986.

When producers asked the wrestler about the death of Bollea, he got emotional and asked to stop the interview.

"You have to stop, you're digging way too much for me," Hogan said.

What Was the Relationship Between Hulk Hogan and His Brother Like?

When asked what his relationship with his brother was like when they were growing up in Florida, Hogan said that they "weren't that close."

"He rode off the reservation early, grew up really fast," he said. "By the time he was 7, he was riding with a bunch of bikers. He got in some trouble here in Florida, and he ended up in Oakland, California."

When Hogan started out in wrestling, he said he would see Bollea in the audience "with 10 Hell's Angels." When the siblings eventually reconnected, Bollea had just gotten out of rehab.

Linda said in the documentary that Hogan attempted to help Bollea stay sober. On the night after a match, the brothers planned to travel together so Hogan could watch over him.

However, Bollea said that he couldn't come and needed money. "So I gave him some money, and I didn't take him with me," Hogan said.

Later that night, Hogan got a phone call.

"They said, 'Your brother overdosed and passed away,'" he said. "It was a hard one to get over."
