New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has had his hands full lately - and not entirely because he is getting the ream ready for next season. Vrabel was photographed recently with NFL reporter Dianna Russini at a posh resort in Arizona. The snaps, published by Page Six on April 7, showed the two hugging and holding hands.

Those images fueled rampant buzz about a possible relationship between the two. Both Vrabel and Russini, who worked for The Athletic, denied any romantic connection. (They are both married.to other people.) Then a bombshell abruptly dropped. On April 14, Dianna Russini suddenly resigned from her job even before an internal investigation by the publication was completed.
Today, Mike Vrabel finally spoke to the media about the still-swirling rumors concerning him and Dianna Russini. He made a brief statement and took a few questions. Vrabel referred to the ongoing situation as "a personal and private matter." Whether his appearance puts the incident to rest remains to be seen.
Vrabel Said He Has Had "Difficult Conversations" With Many People Lately
Vrabel did not directly discuss Dianna Russini with the reporters at his press conference. He said in part, "...I've had some difficult conversations with people that I care about, my family, the organization, coaches, the players. Those have been positive and productive. We believe in order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions. That includes me, that starts with me. We never want our actions to negatively affect the team. We never want to be the cause of a distraction."
Furthermore, Vrabel, 50, added, "These are comments and questions that I've answered for the team and with the team. We'll keep those private to ourselves."
He Declined To Comment on Dianna Russini's Resignation
When asked about Dianna Russini stepping down from her role at The Athletic, Vrabel declined to say anything. He observed, "I respect and I appreciate every single question, but I'm not going to be able to comment on anything as it relates to that..I have to make my comments and what I answer about our football team."
Vrabel repeatedly said that he wanted to "focus on the football team."
