Pat McAfee is done with professional wrestling. The popular ESPN personality was put through an announcer's table by Jelly Roll at WrestleMania on Saturday, April 18. Interestingly, McAfee's wife, Samantha, took to social media to thank Jelly Roll for his viral spot on the show.

"First morning since 2017 babe is completely out of the wrestling business, thanks @jellyroll615," Samantha wrote on her Instagram story.
McAfee himself has since confirmed that his time in professional wrestling, both in the ring and at the announcer's table, has come to an end.
"The good news is, the business doesn't need to be saved after all. And good for them. And for me, I finished my story," he said in a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show. "t's been a hell of a run. Thank you, wrestling. It was an honor to be over there."
McAfee had been bizarrely injected into the WrestleMania storyline between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. However, other than being put through a table, making a brief appearance as a special referee, and receiving an RKO from Orton, McAfee's presence had no impact on the outcome of the match.
Still, given his dwindling standing with the WWE fanbase, his exit from the company was fitting.

The internet can be an unforgiving place. That's especially true when fans aren't aligned with the decision-making process behind one of their favorite pastimes. So, when Jelly Roll and McAfee both had a spot in a WrestleMania main event, fans didn't hold back in cracking jokes.
"Luckily it was Lettuce Wrap that landed on Pat," one user joked following Jelly Roll's elbow drop on McAfee. "Jelly Roll would've been manslaughter."
Another fan echoed the general online sentiment by questioning why WWE needed so many celebrities at the biggest wrestling show of the year.
"Too many celebs and streamers and b/c listers in wrestling..getting lame.." the user wrote.
Another fan celebrated the fact that McAfee had a tough night after eating finishers from Rhodes, Orton and Jelly Roll himself.
"Pat took a crossroads, jelly elbow on the announce table, and an RKO in the same night," the user wrote. "The only bright spot in him being in this storyline!!!!!"
It's worth remembering that in professional wrestling, a goodbye doesn't always mean forever. McAfee could still return to the company in the future. But for now, it would appear he's pursuing other interests. Clearly, his wife is pleased about that development.
