Actress Natasha Lyonne found herself at the center of an embarrassing incident the other day. According to Page Six, "...[S]he was kicked off a Delta flight for exhibiting abnormal behavior." Now she is opening up about the issue on social media. Nevertheless, what Lyonne wrote shed little light on the problem.
In a post on X dated April 9, 2026, Lyonne, 47, wrote, "My heart is with all the unpaid TSA agents at our airports. Sure was looking forward to speaking honestly with @DrewBarrymore yesterday but guess wasn't in the cards. Who owns page six/New York Post now again?"
She Previously Had Substance Abuse Issues but Was Doing Better
Lyonne has reportedly dealt with substance abuse issues in the past. However, she seemingly had everything under control lately. After an alleged relapse, she posted an update on
"Proud to report this kid is doing a whole lot better & back on her feet. Want to thank our recovery communities & the fans who stood by & were so supportive. Aiming to keep the journey somehow private, but look forward to sharing my experience, strength & hope as makes sense. My heart is with everyone ever going through it."
What Happened on That Plane?
Per the outlet, Natasha Lyonne was aboard a plane that was headed to New York City from Los Angeles. She had been on the red carpet shortly before because of the third season premiere of Euphoria. But things seemed to quickly go downhill for the star after that.
While reportedly sitting in a first-class seat, Lyonne was requested by flight attendants to secure her seat belt and close down her laptop. She was oddly unresponsive regarding those routine asks. In fact, the outlet notes that an eyewitness claimed that several flight attendants tried to encourage the actress to do what she had been told. Their entreaties were allegedly to no avail.
Furthermore, "...[S]he seemed to be dozing behind her sunglasses — even getting startled at one point and saying, 'Ah! You scared me!'"
Things Escalated Somewhat After That
Running out of options to deal with the actress, the laptop was taken from her possession. The plane headed to the runway before coming back to the gate. Someone identified as "a Delta staffer" by the outlet asked Lyonne if she wanted medical help and also allegedly told her that she would have to disembark from the flight.
Additionally, "The 'American Pie' star was overhead asking where they were, and she was told they were still in LA and that the plane wasn't going anywhere until she got off of it." Lyonne went to the restroom, came out munching pretzels, and did finally depart from the plane.
The Captain Addressed the Passengers
People must have been wondering why their flight was delayed. The captain eventually spoke to them. Per the outlet, he explained, "We have a passenger who for whatever reason ... wouldn't follow some basic commands ... We had a passenger who didn't seem up to the task tonight so that's why they were asked to be booked on another flight — I do apologize for the inconvenience, but we will get you to New York as quickly and as safely as possible."
