Be a bit more like Reeves himself.

"Try not to be a f---ing a--hole," Reeves told E! News. It's sound advice for upcoming actors and really anyone in general. "Go to work and respect who you're working with until they prove they don't get your respect. Try not to be [an a--hole]. It might not work out, but try."

Reeves shared this advice while promoting his upcoming film Outcome. That film, directed by Jonah Hill, hilariously sees Reeves playing against type. In this film, he's an actor who's been high on his own supply. Reeves' Reef Hawk tries to make amends after burning many different bridges with people across the industry.

That obviously doesn't go according to plan. Sounds like Reef Hawk could have used someone like Reeves giving him advice to avoid the whole situation. The film also stars Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer as the actor's friends.

They also took the moment to offer their own advice to upcoming actors as well.

"If you're lucky like Reef, surround yourself with friends and keep your friends who maybe knew you before, if you can, who can really ground you and are going to be there by your side through the good and the bad and the ups and the downs of it all," Bomer, who has been acting for the screen since 2000, said.

Diaz meanwhile suggested that there's no set path to follow.

"I would say there's no handbook or manual on being famous, so you have to write your own and follow your own manuscript," she said. "You got to just make it your own. You can't really do it - you don't know what it's going to be. Reach out to other people that you admire, the way that they do it, and ask them for some advice."
