Lady Gaga Bows Out of Concert in Canada Due to Illness: "I'm Absolutely Heartbroken and So Sorry"

Most performers are eager to give 100 percent to their fans. When they give a performance, they go all out to make it memorable. Unfortunately, however, sometimes because of circumstances they cannot control or foresee, concerts have to be canceled or postponed. Lady Gaga recently had to call off a concert in Canada due to a respiratory illness on her doctor's advice. She is very obviously regretful about having to cancel the event. Nevertheless, it could not be helped.

It was scheduled to be held in Montreal at the Bell Centre. The concert was part of Lady Gaga's Mayhem Ball tour. After the Canadian leg of the tour, there are two shows in Minnesota and one in the Big Apple.

Lady Gaga Explained the Situation on Social Media

It sounds as if the "Shallow" singer feels as bad mentally about letting her fans down as she does physically. She wrote on her Instagram Stories, ""I'm so sorry to share that I'm unable to perform tonight and have to cancel the show. I've been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover, but it's gotten worse."

Furthermore, the actress and vocalist added, "My doctor has strongly advised me not to perform today and to be honest I don't think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve."

Lady Gaga ended with these thoughts. "I know how deeply disappointing this is, and I truly could not feel worse about letting you down. I'm so sorry to everyone who made plans to be there and support me. Being in Montreal and performing for you on Thursday and Friday was magical and deeply meaningful. To everyone who was coming tonight, I'm absolutely heartbroken and so sorry."

Her Tour Has Been Very Successful

The tour brought Lady Gaga to far-flung places like Las Vegas, Seattle, Miami, New York, London, Antwerp, and Milan. When she announced it a little more than a year ago, Lady Gaga sounded thrilled to hot the road here and abroad.

She wrote in part on Instagram, "...[H]onestly, I can't wait. This show is designed to be the kind of theatrical and electrifying experience that brings MAYHEM to life exactly how I envision it. The MAYHEM Ball Tour is officially coming your way. See you soon, monsters."
