Shocking Moment Kansas City Family Find Dangerous Pill Hiding in Easter Candy

The dangerous pill was found in a pack of Easter candy bought from a popular retailer. The investigation is still ongoing.

In a shocking turn of events, a Kansas City family found a pill in Easter candy they had bought. As reported by KMBC 9, the pill was found in a candy bag.

The Huff family of Kansas City, Missouri, recently found a strange-looking pill in an otherwise innocent-looking bag of Easter candy. They had bought the candy from Sam's Club to fill up baskets for Easter when they made the shocking discovery. In an interview with the outlet, they discussed what the pill exactly was.

"I Googled it, and it said it was an antidepressant pill. That's kind of scary to think that a little kid could've gotten a hold of that," Huff said. They also said they were "very thankful" that it happened to their family, rather than one with "littles running around". Just imagine what would have happened if a child had got a hold of an antidepressant pill!

After the family brought the candy along with the pill back to Sam's Club, they took action. They promptly gave them a full refund. They also pulled all the candy from the shelves immediately. Good on them for taking quick action.

This Isn't the First Drug Contamination In Kansas City Recently

In a shocking turn of events, this isn't even the first time this has happened in Kansas City. Whilst it wasn't a pill, a very dangerous drug was recently found to have been contaminating Barbies at a discount store in Kansas City.

As we reported back in March, the drugs were taped to the back of the Barbie packaging. The worst part was the fact that the Barbies had already been sold to several customers before the police were alerted to the shocking discovery.

Luckily, in this situation, the police acted quickly and recovered all five contaminated Barbies. But, as for the pill in the Easter candy, we aren't sure how widespread it's going to be. The investigation into that situation is still ongoing.

This is a really worrying trend, and we hope that it isn't something that gets even more common soon.
