‘Survivor’ Star Opens up About "Worst" Foot Injury: "My Limp Was So Bad"

The 'Survivor' all-star was recently voted off in the April 1 episode of the 50th season of the show. He opened up about his foot infection.

Survivor star Colby Donaldson has opened up about his time on the hit show after he was eliminated on the April 1 episode of the 50th season. As reported by People, he had a pretty gnarly foot injury during one of the seasons.

Donaldson, who had appeared on the show a total of four times, revealed he had a great time. He first appeared on Survivor in 2001 during its second season.

He reflected on his experiences during tribal council when he thought that it was his time. "I came into ['Survivor'] with a completely different attitude... There are certainly days that suck, especially when you're injured, but I chose to find the joy in it. Half my life has transpired since the first time I played."

He continued, "I'm in my 50s now, and they say this is the decade of reflection. That's truly it. I've reflected on my life and how Survivor has woven through so much of it. I just appreciate the opportunity to come back one more time."

Now that he's left, he had a few things to say to the outlet about his experiences on Survivor.

He Reflected on the "Worst" Foot Injury Doctors Had Seen on 'Survivor'

He explained that he had "two injuries in the same foot" during the 50th season of Survivor. "One was a torn ligament... That wouldn't have taken me out of the game." While it was certainly painful for him, he soldiered on when it was happening.

"The other injury... was a puncture wound I got somewhere that introduced some bacteria that led to an infection. That infection kept getting worse day after day." He added that he "couldn't hide it from everyone because my limp was so bad, and my pride and ego helped me off the tribal council stage."

The night he was voted off, the doctor talked to him. He said "Colby, we've got to do something about this, and I can't give you any antibiotics in the game." Donaldson's response was to beg the doctor to go to the council, because he knew he was being voted off.
