This Lego Heist Isn't the First Time Lots of Toys Have Been Stolen
You'd think stealing toys like Lego isn't much of a common occurrence. After all, toys, especially collector's items, have been a hot commodity as of late. However, things have gotten a lot more violent than retail theft in the past.
As reported by the New York Post, a New York City Pokémon trading shop was robbed my armed gunmen in January 2026. They made off with $100,000 worth of collectibles during a community event full of people.
Investigators explained that the suspects were clad in black hoodies and masks. Also, one brandished a handgun, taking Pokémon cards from people at gunpoint. The robbery only lasted three minutes, but luckily no one was injured.
This just goes to show that kids' toys are getting to be worth a lot. Have you seen the price of things lately?
