Per NBC4Los Angeles, Buckingham allegedly entered a building in Santa Monica for an appointment. At that moment, per the outlet, "[T]he woman described by authorities as a stalking suspect threw an unknown substance at the two-time Grammy winner and took off. Police have identified the suspect, but no arrests were reported early Wednesday morning."
This is reportedly not the first time that Lindsey Buckingham, who is 76, has crossed paths with the woman. Law enforcement anticipates an arrest in the case "soon." Both the Los Angeles Police Department and the Santa Monica Police Department are involved in the case.
Buckingham Was an Integral Member of Fleetwood Mac
The musician, a native of Palo Alto, California, helped to boost the band to tremendous popularity and success. Perhaps their greatest triumph was the 1977 album Rumours. It was filled with amazing tracks and was a testament to the band's versatility and creativity. It is frequently cited as one of the greatest and best-selling LPs of all time.
His Helped Craft One of Their Best Albums
Furthermore, Buckingham put his indelible mark on it. He penned songs from it like "Second Hand News," "Never Going Back Again," and "Go Your Own Way." Buckingham also co-wrote "The Chain" with his bandmates Christine McVie, .Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, and John McVie. Additionally, the project was done at a tume of intense personal upheaval for Fleetwod Mac's members. Ironically, however, maybe that tension ultimately contributed to the album's quality.
Honors flowed in for the LP. Rumours landed in the Grammy Hall of Fame and won Album of the Year. And Lindsey Buckingham was very much one of its main architects. The masterpiece was named to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in 2017.
In fact, Rumours was not the only brilliant work from this amazing band. However, it was in many ways their signature effort, encapsulating what made them so special. And Lindsey Buckingham was a very big part of that.
