Lizzo says that she made a vow not to give it up until she won a Grammy when she was younger. She kept that promise, losing her virginity in her 30s.

"I was a late bloomer. I lied about it for a long time," Lizzo said on the "Friends Keep Secrets" podcast. Apparently, it happened in 2020. "Isn't that crazy? I wasn't even thinking about it ... I promised myself when I was younger that I wouldn't have sex until I won a Grammy."

She also clarified, "It was not the night of Grammys." Ultimately in 2020, Lizzo won a Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance ("Truth Hurts"), Best Urban Contemporary Album (deluxe version of "Cuz I Love You") and Best Traditional R&B Performance ("Jerome"). That's three Grammys in total.

Grammy and More for Music Icon

Despite her vow, she kept it to herself for years before finally revealing the truth. Lizzo confessed that she was embarassed of the fact back in college.

"I feel a weight off of my chest right now," she also said. "It was so embarrassing. I was in a friend group of girls. We were all girling one night, and it was like, 'Wait, Lizzo, are you a virgin?'"

"And I remember being like, 'No!'" she continued. "I was remember it was so embarrassing. I said, 'I love the D' ... And it held me over for a little while."

The music icon discussed how her first kiss also ended up being bad.

"Ya'll have no idea. It was religious for me, too. Like, when we were teenagers at my church, we all made a pact that we wouldn't do anything before marriage," she explained. "And then, I was just so scared. Like, nobody wanted to kiss me."

She finally kissed someone at 21. But it didn't live up to what she was hoping for.

"I was actually very upset about it," Lizzo said. "It was a New Year's Eve thing and he forced it on me. I was really mad and I was like, 'My first kiss is ruined.' I was so mad."
