Our society is as deeply and bitterly divided along political and ideological lines as it ever was. The anger out there cannot be underestimated. For example, Carrie Underwood is still getting flak for singing at President Donald Trump's second inauguration in January 2025. That was more than a year ago. Furthermore, several artists bowed out of the upcoming Rock the Country music festival. Their leave-taking was supposedly because many people prominently associated with the event are apparently either Trump supporters or pro-MAGA. Some artists bristle at being unfairly or incorrectly labeled on account of their beliefs. Country singer Tracy Lawrence reportedly feels passionately about this whole subject. He would ideally like to see people leaving politics out of the equation and coming together more, maybe over their shared love of music.

Lawrence Advocated for Less Bitterness and More Music-Inspired Unity
The "Time Marches On" singer from Texas, 58, had Morgan Evans as a guest recently on his TL's Road House podcast. Lawrence said, "Our journeys are all unique into themselves, but we all share a passion and a love of music." Additionally, he mentioned, "What I love about it, and I wish we could get back to more of this. With all the divisive stuff going on with politics and the world ... music is supposed to be the thing that unites us."
He hopes that the public can put aside barriers and focus more on coming together harmoniously. Lawrence said, "I wish people would get the politics out of all this stuff where we could just get back, and it doesn't matter what color you are or where you come from."
In a nutshell, Tracy Lawrence believes this. "I think music is supposed to be one of those things that brings us all together. Because it used to be that, and I'd love to see that happen more again." However, whether it does in the current fraught climate in America is anyone's guess.
