"Charity and [constant] Dotun [Olubeko] had this amazing one-on-one date on this secluded little island in the middle of the water," Jesse recalled. "I watched them on their date and thought about how I'd love to just go out there by myself and spend a couple hours on that beach when we were done filming. So I went out there."

However, things quickly turned bad for Jesse, who continued recounting his ordeal.

"But then the storm blew in, and the tide started climbing up onto the beach — to the point where the beach almost got completely covered by the ocean," Jesse continued. "I'm just out in the middle of the ocean, and there's nothing there. And I thought to myself, 'I'm just going to have to tread water and hope a boat comes by and picks me up.'"

During the interview, Jesse admitted he started to wonder whether he was experiencing his last moments on Earth.

"I did have some bad thoughts for a moment. Like, this is so crazy and ironic if this is how it ends."

ABC Has Cancelled Season 22 of 'The Bachelorette'

ABC has cancelled season 22 of The Bachelorette. Network officials made the decision just days before the show was due to begin airing. The controversy surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul is the reason for the decision. A video showing Taylor assaulting Dakota Mortensen was recently released on social media.

"In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family," a spokesperson for Disney Entertainment Television said in a statement to People.

However, ABC's decision will come with a hefty price tag.

"Sources with direct knowledge tell us ... the show costs around $2 million an episode to produce. There's already finger-pointing and, we're told, shouting over who's to blame and who should shoulder the costs," TMZ reported. "...ABC will almost certainly lose that money, and we're told it's a fortune."

It's fair to assume the future of the show may be in question as the fallout continues to unravel.
