We know Kid Rock probably watched the Oscars on Sunday night.

How, you ask? Is Kid Rock a cinephile? Was he rooting for One Battle After Another to take home Best Picture? Did he want to see "Golden" from K-Pop Demon Hunters win the award for Best Song?
We honestly don't know. However, seeing the "All Summer Long" singer in the Criterion Closet would be a thrill.
However, Kid Rock discovered (most likely on social media) that the host of the Academy Awards, Conan O'Brien, made a joke at his expense during the opening monologue.
What Did Conan O'Brien Say About Kid Rock?
During his introduction, O'Brien referenced The Turning Point USA Halftime Show. In case you were unaware, the event was created by the conservative advocacy group in response to Bad Bunny's selection to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The goal was to celebrate "faith, family, and freedom."
"There's a big portion of this country, like it or not, that's underserved entertainment-wise," Kid Rock explained. "We're just gonna go play for our base, people who love America, love football, love Jesus."
O'Brien indirectly talked about the event in his opening remarks.
"I should warn you, tonight could get political. And if that makes you uncomfortable, there's an alternate Oscars being hosted by Kid Rock," he said. "It's at the Dave & Buster's down the street. Lotta tickets for that."
How Did Kid Rock React?
Kid Rock then subtweeted a clip of O'Brien's monologue that was posted by conservative media company The Daily Wire.
"I love a good joke, even when I am the butt of it, unfortunately this was not a very good one," said Rock.
Of course, Rock took the opportunity to plug a project of his own.
He wrote, "Either way, if you want to see a REAL good show this spring / summer that celebrates America and 250 years of Freedom - make sure you buy your tickets from (ugh) Ticketmaster for my Freedom 250 tour - The Road To Nashville. There is a reason for this, TRUST ME!"
You may have noticed Kid Rock's reference to Ticketmaster. This ties back to his ongoing criticism of the ticket seller and its policies, which he believes are shady.
Back in 2024, he said, "We need these politicians to change it, or they need to straighten up. Ticketmaster needs to do the right thing. Because they're claiming it's the right thing, this 'verified fan' and all this s***, but guess what? The artist don't get any of that. It's f*****g highway robbery..."
If he can fix this problem, then maybe we can forgive him for not being able to take a joke.
