The body-cam footage, obtained by Page Six, shows Melany Viljoen and Petrus Viljoen, the married stars of The Real Housewives of Pretoria, being taken into custody separately by police in Boca Raton, Florida.

Police Came to the Home of the "Real Housewives" Star

When officers arrive at the Viljoens' Florida apartment, 39-year-old Melany answers the door in her bathrobe. The authorities ensure there are no pets or other people in the home, then allow her to change into regular clothes.

As police escort Melany to the vehicle, she is cooperative. When asked if they can search her, she notes, "You saw me naked." An officer acknowledges her comment, and the search continues.

Meanwhile, 57-year-old Petrus is pulled over by police while driving a black Range Rover.

"Are you arresting me?" Petrus asks when told to leave the vehicle. He is more appropriately dressed than Melany, wearing a grey T-shirt and jeans.

The police then ask who the SUV is registered to. Petrus says it is either under his or his wife's name. He then tells the officers that Melany is at the couple's apartment. An officer explains that he has been "fully cooperative."

Why Was the Couple Arrested?

Arrest records show the couple was apprehended on March 10 and charged with aggravated grand retail theft over $3,000. Both are being held on a $10,000 bond.

The Viljoens are part of the original cast of The Real Housewives of Pretoria. The show premiered in South Africa in 2022.

Police launched a retail theft investigation on Aug. 29. Arrest records indicate a "white male and female" captured on CCTV engaged in "ticket switching." The footage purportedly shows them leaving Publix with carts of valuable items while avoiding self-checkout lanes.

According to Boca Raton police, ticket switching is when "a price tag or UPC barcode from a less expensive item is placed onto a more expensive item to pay a lower price."

It is alleged that the Viljoens stole a total of 392 items between August 2025 and March 2026, including sparkling water and two bottles of Prosecco.

Melany has admitted to stealing the items, telling police that Petrus "had nothing to do with it." In her arrest record, she explained she hasn't been able to work in the U.S. because she lacks a visa.
