Ashley Marina appeared on America's Got Talent when she was 12. Unfortunately, she was cut in the second round.

Some would see this as a failure, but Marina clearly learned from the experience. Now, at 18, the commercial music major from Pittsburgh turned some chairs on The Voice on Monday. All three of them, as a matter of fact.
Ashley Marina Felt a Little Nervous During the Performance
It's still blind audition time on the 29th season of The Voice. Dubbed the Battle of Champions, there are only three coaches sitting in the famous rotating red chairs: Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend.
After her rendition of Keith Urban's "Tonight I Wanna Cry," Marina had the trio battling over her. However, seeing those chairs turn during her performance increased her anxiety.
"I could hear country in there, but I could also hear other influences musically, which I think is really important. You were pitchy after we turned around, [but] I don't know if that's cause you got nervous," said Clarkson.
Marina confirmed Clarkson's suspicions, so the coach offered to help.
"I think you have a killer voice and I would love to help you tackle those nerves, girl," she said.
Levine added that getting over the pressure will serve Marina well on The Voice.
The Maroon 5 singer said, "You tackling the nerves and you getting past that literally is the formula to do well and succeed on the show. That's what we're here for."
Who Did Marina Choose To Coach Her on "The Voice?"
After hearing her sing, Legend added that he would love to be Marina's coach.
"We heard the different parts of your voice, and it was really beautiful, and it was really tasteful, and it was really musical," he said. "And the fact that you're doing all that at the age of 18 is just so impressive."
He added, "You have this beautiful gift, and we're just here to cultivate it and help you develop the confidence you need."
After all the coaches made their case, Marina made her decision. She decided to go with Team Legend.
Before her audition, Marina made it clear that she was ready to put in the work to succeed.
She said, "I don't have a plan B, so I'm down to do whatever it takes."
