'Investigators are confident this was not a random act of violence,' LaSalle Police Chief Michael Pearce said in a statement. "Grewal's murder is being investigated as an intentional act against her."
Pearce's statement also addressed the public interest in Nancy's death, largely due to her popularity online.
"While we recognize the significant public interest in this case," he said. "We will not share information that will compromise the investigation, including leads, tips, and investigative avenues."
Nancy, who focused on lifestyle and fitness content, had roughly 13,000 followers on Instagram and a further 9,000 on YouTube. Her final post to Instagram was on Feb. 26.
"To ease public concern, we are sharing that investigators are viewing this as an isolated incident," Pearce's statement continued.
Nancy's death is the second homicide to occur in LaSalle since the turn of the year, according to the Windsor Star. Currently, no motive or suspect name has been released to the public.
"While investigators have called the case an isolated incident, they have not revealed if a suspect is in custody," The Windsor Star continued.

Alishaa has since posted another graphic to her Instagram page, this time with the caption "Signing Off From This World," with a picture of Nancy and the message "thank you for being part of my journey."
Currently, no information regarding Nancy's impending funeral has been made public. Those details will likely remain private for family and close friends.
There will likely be more updates on the situation as the police continue their investigation. But for now, all we can do is offer our condolences to Nancy's family in such a difficult time.
