A Girl Scouts troop in New Jersey found a clever way to sell their baked goods to hunger-prone customers. The New York Post reports that enterprising young women set up a cookie stand outside of a weed dispensary.

It makes sense. Not that we would know, but it's been shown that smoking pot can make you hungry. Getting a few boxes of Thin Mints can satisfy those cravings.
"You use cannabis, you get the munchies," said Steve Cassidy, the owner of Daylite Dispensary, the business located in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, that partnered with the Girl Scouts troop. "There's a connection between snacks and cannabis, and the fact that we don't have to pretend that doesn't exist anymore is really awesome."
As you might expect, some regional Girl Scouts leaders are not too pleased with the idea. We have the details below.
Customers Inhaled the Cookies
It's been reported that boxes of Peanut Butter Patties and other favorites were in such high demand at the dispensary that customers skipped the kush and went straight to the Caramel Delites.
"I don't think five years ago we would've seen anything like this," said Cassidy.
But after the shop made the news, the dispensary owner said he believes the attention may have led the Girl Scouts to get in trouble with their leaders.
"It was about community," said Cassidy. "If that means the local Girl Scout troop got in trouble, that is absolutely not what we wanted."
It's unknown if there have been any formal disciplinary actions against the Girl Scouts for their partnership with the dispensary. Several outlets have inquired with the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, but the organization has yet to comment.
The idea had reportedly been proposed last year, but the Girl Scouts had rejected it. Cassidy said a troop was allowed to sell the cookies at Daylite Dispensary this year on a trial basis.
Did the Girl Scouts Get in Trouble?
After the success of the first sale, the troop was then scheduled to return to Daylite Dispensary on Friday, March 6. However, no booth is currently scheduled.
In 2022, recreational cannabis became legal in New Jersey. There are now over 200 dispensaries in the state.
That's a lot of cookies just waiting to be sold.
