Rock Icon Reveals Touching Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne Inspired by His Passing

Ozzy Osbourne's lead guitarist and long-time friend has shared his plans for a touching tribute for the Prince of Darkness.

Zakk Wylde has revealed his musical tribute to rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. It comes in the form of a touching song.

Osbourne's former lead guitarist opened up about the homage to him on Black Label Society's upcoming album, Engines Of Demolition, as per People.

The song will be the final track on the album, and will be entitled "Ozzy's Song". Wylde revealed that his wife inspired the track's title, "Obviously, Ozzy's name isn't mentioned in the song, but it came about because of my wife, whenever we were in the truck... she was like, 'Hey, put on Ozzy's song again.'"

Wylde also shared the emotional story of how he came up with the song. He noted, "after we laid Ozzy to rest... I sat in our little library room and there was a book of Ozzy up there. I was just looking at it," he recounted.

He continued, "I had the headphones on. It was probably at 1:00 in the morning... I was just listening... and then I was just looking at a book of Ozzy and then I just wrote those lyrics."

"I would've never written these lyrics if Oz was still around.", he finished. He said that the song was an emotional ballad, something definitely suitable to celebrate Ozzy Osbourne and his life.
