Celebrities have to cope with mean comments from the public about everything from how bad they look sans makeup to their weight. Especially about their weight. That is hurtful and intrusive. Many have spoken out about how unfair and cruel it is to criticize people about what they weigh. Kelly Osbourne recently added her voice to those vehemently decrying the practice. Now Lauren Alaina has posted a video about it on Instagram. The singer makes her view very clear. She says she is "seething" about the topic.

Alaina's Video Is Blistering
She captioned it, "Why are we still commenting on women's bodies in 2026?" Her video remarks stem from a TikTok of her in concert that zeroed in on what Alaina looks like rather than her vocal artistry. That was a big letdown and then some.
Alaina clapped back, "All the comments were about my weight. People were saying that my tour needed to be sponsored by Ozempic and just horrible things and it really affected me." She added pointedly, "We've got to change the way we are talking about women on social media."
She Explained Her Own Circumstances
The singer said that regarding her weight, she is less than a year after giving birth to her daughter. Also, Alaina has had an eating disorder that she has dealt with over "a very long time." She is trying not to let the nasty barbs get to her, though. Alaina noted, "I know better and I'm fine, but I'm also just ticked."
Alaina Also Made a Few Choice Comments in a Post
In a curt tone, Alaina mentioned that the "obsession" with what women look like has to end. She wrote, "We need to retire the obsession with women's bodies. If you care about the music...talk about the music. If you don't...well, that's fine too. But this culture of speculating about women's bodies? It's tired. Do better."
Whether the voices angrily pushing back against those who blast women because of what they weigh or look like changes the climate is yet to be seen. Hopefully it will have an impact and make people think before they post or speak harshly about females' appearance.
