Taylor Swift Completely Unrecognizable in BTS Video

Taylor Swift has the uncanny ability to transform herself musically and physically, depending on the effect she wants to create. For example, to mark the ascent of her song "Opalite" to the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100, Swift posted videos and images of herself working on the song on Instagram, uncharacteristically sans makeup. There are also some clips from the music video's set.

Her new look is super young, almost schoolgirlish, and very innocent. Sweet rather than sultry. So different for her. And for her fans. Without the movie star scarlet lipstick, dramatic eye treatment, and curtain of ruler-straight bands, it's a totally new Taylor Swift indeed. She makes an impact with it, though. How many celebs could generate attention just by skipping their usual beauty product regimen? And how many have the guts to ditch their makeup for all to see?

But Swift's unadorned face and untypical wavy 'do don't mean she is going strictly Everygirl. The pop princess accentuated her look with some luxury items, per Page Six. They include a chic mint green sweater from The Row, price tag $1,458, and a bauble from Piaget for $2,580.

Swift Thanked Her Fans for Their Support of the Hit Song

She also posted this appreciative message to her followers. "Just a few Opalite memories to celebrate the Hot 100 #1 you guys just got this song!! I can't even sum up my excitement and I'm so blown away by the love you've shown this song and video. To put this into perspective... This is actually the first time I've had two Hot 100 #1s off of one album since my album 1989 came out in 2014, nearly twelve years ago!'

She added, " I know that's a lot of numbers but it all adds up to me being so thankful to the fans who helped make this happen by welcoming this song into your lives with open arms. Seriously bouncing off the walls about this!! Just wanted to say THANK YOU, might go buy a giant pretzel at the mall to celebrate, iykyk"

The Fan-Favorite Singer Seems Pleased With Herself

At one point, Swift utters something that shows what she thinks of herself looking more natural. She is intently peering at herself in her cell phone, which is held in one hand. Swift then says, "Never in my life have I felt so myself. This is actually who I was meant to be."
